Workshops

Workshops are a great way to go deeper into your yoga practice by developing greater awareness with the mind-body connection, exploring different aspects of yoga like pranayama (breath work) and meditation as well as focusing on specific postures to better align your practice.

Each workshop has a fun, explorative approach where you can ask questions and try something new.

"As a new first time mum life has been pretty full on these last few months. Tawny's Restorative Yoga workshop was just what I needed. A really good stress reliever!

Tawny makes sure her classes are intimate enough that she is able to spend time with everyone individually to ensure we get the best out of the experience. I will be definitely attending another soon." - Michelle

Breathe In, Breathe Out

Breath is the Life Force (Prana) that brings us into existence.

saturday 24th March

Image Flyer Side2.jpg

From a baby's first breath we enter into the world and yet we often take the energetics of the breath for granted. Improving how we breathe can benefit our health by improving sleep, reducing stress, anxiety and enhancing our overall wellbeing.

This 2 hour workshop will explore how we breathe, where the breath gets stuck and how to create space to allow the breath to flow freely. Through simple restorative postures and gentle breath work (pranayama) students will leave with a better understanding of how to signal the body into a deeper state of relaxation, which is usually hidden by the stresses and strains of daily life.

Time: 10am - 12pm

Level: Open to all abilities, previous experience of yoga is ideal but not essential

Price: £20 or £35 for both workshops

Location: Bennetts End Community Centre, HP3 9LZ

Standing Strong

Finding Strength & Power through Standing Poses.

Image Flyer Side1.jpg

This workshop is an opportunity to give yourself time to refine your alignment and take yourself deeper into standing postures. In our Vinyasa Flow practice we don't always get time to let our bodies find correct alignment within each pose. This workshop is designed to fine tune the alignment of some of the well known postures in a typical yoga class like Warrior 2, Triangle, High Lunge and Extended Side Angle.

Discover what works for your body and how to adapt postures to suit your needs. Take time to allow your body to settle into itself and go deeper into each pose for a better, happier and more aligned you!

Time: 10am - 12pm

Level: Open to all abilities, previous experience of yoga is ideal but not essential

Price: £20 or £35 for both workshops

Location: Bennetts End Community Centre, HP3 9LZ

Saturday 18th November

Foundations of Flow

Due to the success of this workshop in September and the amount of interest I have received since, I'm happy to announce I'll be doing another Foundations of Flow in November.

Details below:

Learn the ABC's of Vinyasa Flow to take your yoga practice to the next level.

This workshop is designed to guide you through the foundations of a Vinyasa Flow practice to get you moving your body in unison with the breath - no matter what your experience level.

Look at some of the core poses in Vinyasa Flow like Downward Facing Dog, Plank and how to work towards Chaturanga. Next, learn how to transition between the poses by linking your breath with physical movement.

Time: 10am - 12pm

Level: Open to all abilities, previous experience of yoga is ideal but not essential

Price: £15 Early Bird Rate (book by 20th October), £20 thereafter

Location: Bennetts End Community Centre, HP3 9LZ

What students had to say about the workshop:

I thoroughly enjoyed the Yoga workshop. I felt engaged and liked the way that each move was broken down and we were given the time to absorb the details before moving on to the next pose. I came away feeling totally energised.
Looking forward to the next one!
— Sharon
It was my first yoga workshop and wasn’t sure what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed it. I particularly liked the challenge of going from plank to a controlled arm pose and then into upward facing dog. I was very pleased also to learn the breathing techniques to compliment the flowing poses that we do, something I will practice in class.

What was really nice was the fact that you explained lots of the things we do in detail which gives us the tools to try and get it right for ourselves in class. Explaining the corpse pose at the end was also very helpful, as like most people, I just lie down and don’t think of my body positioning much.
— Tina
A very big thank you for Saturday’s yoga workshop, a thoroughly enjoyable experience which was absolutely amazing and very enlightening. I’ll certainly try to remember all you taught us and bring it into class.
Really hope you’ll be doing many more of these wonderful workshops in the future.
— Christine

Truly an inspirational class.  I had been looking for the perfect class around my area and after trying a few, I have to say Tawny was the one.  Her voice is tranquil, her lessons are challenging yet comfortable.  Her music is so calming and relaxing. She ensures the whole group get the best out of her classes whether beginners or advanced.   Her sessions have taught me how to relax and get the best out of my body and what it can do for my strength, my anxiety and stress levels and keep me harmonised and focused to return back to earth after a long day at work.  A truly rewarding session.  I love her classes and find them very therapeutic.
— Jaishri

I’ve been practicing Vinyasa Yoga for a few months and I can already notice a big difference in my lifestyle. Apart from improving flexibility and strength, I used to find it very hard to stop and have time to just feel the present and relax. I have been learning how to have this moment even in a busy day-to-day with all the challenges that I may have.
Tawny has a lot of knowledge and passion for yoga and I’m very grateful for all her motivation and shared knowledge with us.
